ATG Back Extension

I have a home gym in half of my garage. I have everything I need (platform, half rack, glute-ham bench, dumbbells, lots of different barbells etc…) but was missing a 45-degree hyperextension bench which is essential imo for posterior chain training. I did not have space for a dedicated 45-degree back extension. I bought the original version of the ATG back extension (made in the USA version and more than double the price of the current one) when it first came out about three years ago. It was exactly what I needed. I store it on my platform when not in use and it takes five seconds to move and set up before workouts. It is light weight but doesn’t budge under loads (holding heavy dumbbells or looping a band around the front). I’m very happy with this purchase. Great piece of equipment.

Also, ATG customer service was phenomenal. The first back extension I received had a small hole in the rubber handle on the front and some glue was seeping out of it. They immediately send me a new one and told me to keep the old one which I gifted to a friend who has used it frequently since.

This back extension is an absolute steal for what it delivers. It’s one of the most affordable, high impact pieces of equipment you can get your hands on especially if you’re serious about building bulletproof posterior strength.

Adjusting the incline can be a little tedious, and as someone who’s 6’3” and 240 lbs, I’d love a slightly larger back foot pad for extra ease. Perhaps a handle or grip to move the middle incline piece as well. Once I dial in the setup, I move seamlessly and it does exactly what it’s supposed to.

It’s not the easiest to get in and out of at first, but the functionality and value make up for it. A must have tool in the ATG arsenal.

Just got the new back extension machine.....just like all at equipment really good.....I would recommend it
